Roulette for Beginners

Playing Roulette is easy, despite what the so-called experts have to say about it. All you have to do is pick the same number that shows up on the Roulette wheel and you win!

Choices when playing Roulette

You have several choices when it comes to playing Roulette. You can choose to bet on:

  • colours (either Red or Black)
  • a single number
  • a combination of numbers
  • whether the number will be Odd or Even
  • the table minimum or maximum

You can also play different types of Roulette games such as European Roulette, French Roulette, or American Roulette. With technology being as savvy as it is, you can even choose to play Roulette games in TV streaming video format! We don’t advocate playing American Roulette, especially for beginners, because you are at a disadvantage when it comes to the house edge; i.e. the advantage that the house has over you. The house edge in American Roulette is 5.26%, while European and French Roulette carry a roulette house edge of 2.7%.

Deciding on which numbers to bet on is probably the trickiest part of playing Roulette, but you’ll get the hang after playing for a bit. You must first choose the amount you wish to bet. Each roulette game has a table minimum and maximum. You are not allowed to combine bets to meet the table minimum; meaning you cannot bet on an inside number and an outside number together to meet the minimum bet requirement of $10. Each must be $10.

You can bet on a single number; or on 2 numbers by placing chips between adjoining numbers; or on 4 numbers by placing chips in the centre of the 4 boxes; or on 6 numbers by placing chips on the border between 2 numbers; or on 12 numbers by placing your chips in the boxes labelled 1st 12, 2nd 12, 3rd 12; or on 18 numbers by placing your chips in the boxes labelled 1-18; or on Odd or Even numbers by placing your chips in the boxes marked Odd or Even; or finally on colours by placing your chips in the boxes with the Red or Black colour indicators. Spin the roulette whell, by clicking the “Spin” button. If you bet on the number that shows up on the Roulette wheel, either in a single bet or in a combo bet, you win the relevant payoff amount.
